The AFRIMAC 2 Initiative (for business, technological, entrepreneurial and innovative exchange in matters of high economic impact between the Canary Islands and West Africa) has ended its actions on December 31, 2023 based on its programming.
AFRIMAC IS INVITED TO MALTA TO BE PART OF COST MEETING
AFRIMAC was invited to participate, from 10 to 12 December, in the last Management Committee and scientific working group sessions of the year organized by IMAAC. This meeting took place at the American University of Malta (Bromla, Malta) and was attended by experts from Europe, the United States and other non-European countries.
In addition to the progress made during these sessions, the creation of future activities was also encouraged in order to improve the control measures of the mosquito-borne diseases. Among these, the celebration of the next IMAAC Training School stands out, which will take place on March 2020, on the island of Fuerteventura.
AFRIMAC was represented by the director of this project, Mr. Carlos Gutiérrez Robayna, who gave a presentation on the creation of economic opportunities between Fuerteventura and Africa.
Other presentations were:
- The influence of environmental factors on mosquito population. Modeling and simulation.
- Performance in use of treated textiles for mosquito protection.
- Field trial on mosquito landing rate as an evaluation tool for testing the efficacy of repellent impregnated textiles.
- Standardization of Biotic and Abiotic Parameters for Mosquito Repellent Evaluation.
