The AFRIMAC 2 Initiative (for business, technological, entrepreneurial and innovative exchange in matters of high economic impact between the Canary Islands and West Africa) has ended its actions on December 31, 2023 based on its programming.

AFRIMAC 2 AND RADIO ECCA JOIN UP ONCE AGAIN TO LAUNCH THE "COMUNÍCATE" COURSE, THIS TIME IN FUERTEVENTURA.

APRIL 18, 2022

The program Comunícate of AFRIMAC 2 and Radio ECCA will give many people opportunities in Fuerteventura through orientation and teaching of Spanish. Many women who need to learn the language will be able to do so this year thanks to the different Spanish classes taught in various municipalities on the island. The course takes place in the north (Corralejo), center (Puerto del Rosario) and south (Morro Jable) of the island and has 83 students of 16 different nationalities (Moroccan, Senegalese, Nigerian, Italian, Saharawi, Indian , Polish, Slovak, British, Guinean, Russian, Egyptian, Paraguayan, Chinese, Ugandan and Ivorian).

On February 15, the Comunícate program began in Corralejo, integrated within the framework of the Interreg Mac 2014-2020 AFRIMAC 2 project, with the general objective of facilitating the social inclusion of women at risk of social exclusion, especially migrants, through the training in Spanish to promote access to employment and resources in all areas of social life. It has the support and financing of the European Union, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and with the collaboration of the different municipalities of the Majorera island.

The general objective of this training is to provide the beneficiaries with basic knowledge of Spanish, so that they can function with a minimum of efficiency in elementary and everyday situations. The key tool is the intercultural perspective, given the characteristics of the project. In this way, the project acquires not only an educational character, but also a path towards work entrepreneurship and personal empowerment. Also integrating a process of continuous individualized accompaniment that takes into account the different realities of the student body.

Online and blended classes, individualized and group tutorials are combined, with a dynamic of guidance and personalized advice on educational and labor matters. And it is that knowing the language is a crucial element for the inclusion and participation of the migrant population.

The registration period is open, with places awarded primarily for migrant women and/or at risk of exclusion. You can register through the mail fuerteventura@radioecca.org or by calling 928 85 11 17.
