SPAIN - FUERTEVENTURA: AFRIMAC 2 PROMOTES THE PARTICIPATION OF SENEGAL WOMEN IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP INITIATIVE

The participation of Senegalese women in entrepreneurship initiatives, a challenge for the Madeira-Azores-Canarias (MAC) Territorial Cooperation Operational Program 2014-2020. This seeks to be a neighborhood instrument to create new associations beyond international borders.

AFRIMAC 2, in order to promote business entrepreneurship, leadership and empowerment of women, will carry out a series of promotional actions aimed at sensitizing, motivating, training and strengthening the participation of Senegalese women in economic and entrepreneurial initiatives. In addition, it will promote, periodically, the development of various radio and television programs in which interviews will be carried out with different female references from the business and entrepreneurship scene who will tell their experiences, experts who will give recommendations, advice and guidance for development of a business idea and with people linked to the project to keep abreast of the latest activities. In the same way, AFRIMAC 2 aims to achieve one of its key objectives: to improve the competitiveness of companies.

The territorial cooperation initiative "AFRIMAC 2", led by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura (Canary Islands - Spain) through the Department of Planning, Finance, Economic Promotion, Employment and Environmental Sustainability led by Ms. Lola García Martínez is part of the Program Operational of the Territorial Cooperation Madeira-Azores-Canarias (MAC) 2014-2020.

This Program is the main instrument available to the outermost regions of Spain and Portugal (the Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira) to cooperate with each other and with the country in their geographical environment to provide an effective response to the common challenges they face in matters of innovation, competitiveness, internationalization and sustainable development.
