The AFRIMAC 2 Initiative (for business, technological, entrepreneurial and innovative exchange in matters of high economic impact between the Canary Islands and West Africa) has ended its actions on December 31, 2023 based on its programming.

Senegal and the Canary Islands

The relationship between Senegal and the Canary Islands is very old. Over time, the African country has woven strong links with the Spanish archipelago.

AFRIMAC develops projects that continue to consolidate this connection. For example, exchanges between women entrepreneurs in the Canary Islands and Senegal make it possible to forge new links.

For this project, the Fuerteventura Island Council and the Senegalese Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications are collaborating for a specific purpose:

  • Improvement of human capital and development of business creation.
  • Affirm the presence of women in corporate management.
The success of this program led to the creation of a new exchange called 100 Women to Change West Africa.
